Misael Bruzzone, an economics major from Paraguay who earned minors in philosophy and statistics, received Faculty Honors during Northwestern College’s commencement exercises on May 14. The Faculty Honors award is bestowed upon graduates who excel in academic achievement, Christian influence, general attitude and participation in worthwhile campus activities. The highest honor the faculty gives to graduating seniors, it is determined by a vote of the entire faculty. Bruzzone graduated magna cum laude after compiling a grade point average of between 3.70 and 3.89. An Honors Scholar, he received the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award from the business and economics department faculty. Bruzzone also conducted Junior Scholar research with a business professor. A resident assistant, Misael served as a peer tutor and orientation staff member, was active in the Investments Club, and participated in Spring Service Partnerships and Summer of Service. He also wrote movie and music reviews as a critic for the Beacon, Northwestern’s student newspaper. Interested in a career in finance or banking, Bruzzone will be pursuing a master’s degree in information science at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
